Our Farm

Situated next to the Kereu river, in the beautiful township of Te Kaha, Eastern Bay of Plenty, we are blessed to have a small farm where we can produce our own food and other artisanal goods.

• Cotton
  Cotton is our resident goat, about a year old. She is very affectionate, and extremely talkative, and helps to maintain our paddock/orchard.
• Yuna
  Yuna is our family dog, and also doubles as both guard dog and rat catcher. We're not quite sure what breed she is, but is descended from hunting dogs.
• Chickens
  We have 6 chickens and a rooster who live our custom-build chicken run - during the day they are let out to graze in the adjoining paddock with Cotton for company
• Garden Beds
  We are constantly adding to our garden beds for food & herb production. We have a combination of metal Birdies raised garden beds, as well as some wooden "square foot" planter beds. 
• Greenhouse
  We have recently upgraded from a 4m² PE greenhouse to a polycarbonate panel one nearly twice the size. This was due to a combination of high winds and the need for an increased growing capacity. Full plans and build photos are available on our blog.

  Most of our water supply comes from rainwater collection, but also have a range of natural springs that flow beneath the property. We tapped into one to create a simple well which we use to water the gardens, and occasionally supplement our water.
